Well it’s been a stressful weekend and poker is still yet to reward me but still trying to be positive as I play so little it’s does not afefct me that much. On Friday I tried to do an upgrade on my work’s website and as usual things don’t work so it fucked up and couldn’t rectify it before the weekend so it was down all weekend. Not a good start.
Headed out early for week 6 of the NPF League again and again a relatively poor 68 runners. However, it was clearly the best atmosphere that’s been in there for ages, still plenty of NPFers and loads of crack knocking about the cardroom. Played very tight as usual, not getting cards mosty just ABC but never get in much danger. A couple of shoves after the break and i’m on 10bbs then pick up 89s utg+1. He limps and I know he’s pretty weak so shove here representing massive strength but don’t mind a call. Folded back round, he tanks and eventually reluctantly calls for basically all his stack. Shows a surprising 55 so i’m pretty happy but zero confidence in winning. First card out a 5. Never gonna complain about the strange play but when you never win those key hands, it’s pretty annoying. Decide to not stick around again, drop my sister off and end up playing on her Wii til like 1.30am haha.
Saturday we were going to to look at a Bichon Frise puppy and yeah we ended up buying one so has been keeping me very occupied over the weekend and getting me up earlier than ever so i’m working off reserves at the moment.
Sunday was my turn in the Sunday Millions for the NPF syndicate and despite the stressful weekend and lack of sleep I was very focused and played very well. Had a very ABC table, and luckily never got moved so had the chance to play some good poker. Early doors I pick up QQ on the button so standard raise to be re raised from the sb. No information so I flat and see the flop. Comes Ace high and he puts a weak bet out and flat to see the turn which is a brick. Bets weak again so decide to raise for information and I get it with a good re raise so fold. Atleast an ace here infact probs a set of aces going by his later play. Cost me 2.5k could have made it cheaper by 4 betting pre flop or raising the flop but nevermind. Had to stay tght from then and didn’t really get many hands so once it got to middle stages I could play a bit more. I never went below 15bbs and never had to show a hand down which is what I always aim for and I was floating around 20-25bbs for most of the time. Then PokerStars decide that things were getting a bit boring to stuck this hand into the mix. Shortish stack raises utg which is nearly committed and looking for action so utg+2 just shoves. Comes round to me with KK so obviously call and original raiser folds so yes I just so happen to run into Aces and it’s bye bye before I even get a chance.
Also I bought a seat into the APAT WCOAP which is on the bank holiday weekend so no Leeds Festival this year. Then after that it’s straight onto Vegas for my 21st woooohoooo.
