Invitation to Teamdobbs…Accepted

Well this week I was invited to play for Teamdobbs for the team game at Circus this weekend as 2 of the team could not play.  I’m sort of part of the team anyway as the behind the scenes who sorts out the blog with technical help.  Been offered into the team previously but turned it down cos I’ve got nee crack.  So I never originally planned on playing as my only opportunity was to play in random team which defeats the point of a team game imo.

So this team game is based on 3 rounds where the first 2 are shootouts onto the final table.  I guess this would suit me better than a standard MTT as i’ve only ever made profit at STTs and can use similar strategy from my double or nothing experience although the structure is more deep so they could go on for a long time.  Looking at the players in teamdobbs I don’t see how they can lose especially going from their 2nd finish in the Grosvenor one earlier this year and has a similar structure.

On a side note, I’ve been playing the Sky Poker satellites for a seat in the UK Tour thingy which is coming to Aspers in March.  You can only qualify online so i’ve had 4 attempts and failed.  Twice has been with 70%ers and the other two were just stupid calls from me.  I was sitting comfy on average stack 12 left and 7 seats, just typed on NPF “Just survival is all it takes” and few hands later I see my self on button with A10 and knock it up 1500  at 300/600 and get shoved on 4k from the sb.  Because of my post about survival I’m not raising hands that i’m not prepared to call an all in with so end up calling off over half my stack with A10 when I can only possibly be racing or dominated and yes i’m up vs AK and my stack is fucked to push or fold, don’t last much longer and bust in 11th where I could have easily got a seat at that stage.  Last chance tomorrow night after churning my remaining £7 into £12.
