I made a post at the start of the year about my new year resolutions and was determined to do them but in typical me style they didn’t kick off quickly. I got the easiest one started by keeping track of poker records which has proved useful although have not played near enough games to make anything out of it yet. It does however keep you focused on how much you are spending and gives you good motivation to have a +ROI.
A month has passed and i’ve spent many days to try and get the motivation to make a start on tidying my room so I could make an improvement on some of the other things. I know I said that i’d give my mam £200 if it wasn’t done by the end of the month but I started it yesterday and think that is close enough to let myself off. Well it’s not finished yet but i’ve shifted most of the stuff out so I can get it cleaned and then begin the painstaking task of putting things back in some sort of organisation.
At the same time as tidying my room I decided it was time to become an early riser (sort of) so I could make better use of time and not waste rediculous days of my life. I live like 5 minutes from work so that means leaving work 10 minutes before I need to be there and also getting up with just enough time to get ready and leave the house like a zombie. Then on weekends I thinnk that I have some sort of sleep debt and now sleep in ’til around 4pm which if you add up them lost hours is more than a full day. Sunday morning I decided to set my alarm for 7:45, get up, have breakfast then do all sorts of work that I needed to do. Well I slept right through it but was still an achievement to wake up at 10:10 and actually get out of bed. This morning I did the same but I woke at 7:20 and instead of waiting for the alarm, I was disciplined and just got up. I really need to keep this for atleast a month so it becomes a habit because it’s nothing to do with genes, I have just been used to getting up late since the end of primary school and nothing changed since then. I will be able to use this extra 1-2 hour morning time to complete more of the forum stuff that I always put off.
I also mentioned that I was going to build a £3000 bankroll from SNGs but I’ve quickly realised that this simply isn’t going to happen. I really underestimated how tough this would be for the volume and stakes I play so have made a change of plan. Instead of grinding away making a profit, i’m going to use any weekly profit from SNGs and Double or Nothings to bankroll some decent tournaments. I won’t be able to buy into many tournaments direct so will have to play satellites. One tournament I hope to play every month is the €250,000 Guaranteed on the Boss network which is a brilliant tournament with blinds that get longer throughout the tournament. Also, there is ALWAYS a massive overlay, it was 40k this week and 60k this week which is quite rare for online tournaments. The buy in is €320 and also has weekly €32 and € rebuy sats.
Really looking to the Liverpool Winter Festival this weekend and hoping for at least a cash which would be massive achievement for me.
